Welcome back to Term 1 which is always busy with sporting events.

Gold Nuggets Motocross

Well done to Jenna Clearwater who raced at the Gold Nuggets Motocross which was held at Greymouth last weekend. Jenna was competing against 14 other women, and came 9th overall in her first time racing in the women’s class. Jenna’s next race is the Southland Champs in Invercargill on 30 & 31st March. Awesome work Jenna!

Sport 2019

We are in the process of sorting teams out for volleyball, futsal, touch. Thank you for those getting permission slips back at such short notice. If you still have a permission slip at home please return it ASAP, most are due back tomorrow Friday 8th March.

Note – Sports fees need to be paid before the start of competition to ensure students are able to play.
Students and teachers love to see parents supporting their teams. If your child plays sport then as a parent please get involved in some way, whether it be coaching or managing a team, driving the minivan, taking a carload of players or simply supporting on the sideline.

School Athletics Day

Our school athletics day is next Wednesday 13 March. Parents and community support is welcome. The first event for the day is the House Group March Past at 9am (all students are to assemble on the field at 8.50am for roll call) and events will run all day from then. Students can come to school dressed in their school colours, Clark (red), McKenzie (yellow), Muir (green) and School (blue). We also suggest a healthy lunch, drink bottle, sunscreen, hat, and warm clothing. The Year 13’s will be running a BBQ at lunchtime to fundraise for the school formal.

Help! To run athletics day successfully we need the help of parents/community members/ex-students to run events alongside our staff, it’s not hard and can be a lot of fun. Please contact Roz if you can help on this day.
